I agree here. I would almost certainly never bother reading a raw copy
of an IRC session (not even--or especially--if I was in it[*]). But a
summary of important points is helpful to me. Then again, my reader has
a "next message" key, so I guess there's no actual harm done in posting
such a thing.

Likewise. I just glazed over, then assumed that anything important
would come out later in *written* posts, rather then "spoken with

[*] Actually, I almost certainly wouldn't be in one. My thinking style
is much better suited for email, where I can read over a couple times
before pressing "send". Not that typos never still get through :-(, but
it allows a greater care to clarity and precision.
