Hey all,
I have to thank everyone who contributed to our outstanding success this
week in California. The response to what we are doing was far in excess
of our expectations and 100% positive. I know how much effort you all
have put into this and just want you to know it is making a huge
difference. We are being heard!
A couple weeks ago it lead off with Paul Andrews column in the Seattle
Times. Yesterday we were on the front of the business section of the
San Jose Mercury News. Last night we had a television station from
Sacramento show us on their channel 7 6 o'clock news, (ABC). We were in
the New York Times yesterday, but the best is yet to come.
Rachel Konrad is working on a more extensive piece about voting and told
me she is going to *lead* it with OVC. Rachel is a reporter for the
Associated Press! They even sent a photographer out to do a photo
shoot. If you see a pic of a finger pointing at a vote for George
Washington, that's Fred's Finger of Modeling! Although the FFM may have
gotten most of the shots, there was this voting system you all worked on
in the background... The reporter heard Arthur and the RII on a major
local radio station on his way over to do the shoot
The software you have produced impressed the media. Once again, thanks
for the good work.
I'm asking everyone to hold off on slash-dotting this until a major
portion of the news coverage has hit the net. I'd like for us all to
put together a post that covers what we've done and where it was
reported. The right time for this is probably early next week when we
expect the AP article to come out.
I've not been keeping you all up to date this last week and I know it's
caused some *suspense*. There just wasn't time. My typical day started
at about 7 AM and ending after 2 AM all this last week. Whew! I know
it was worth it.
I wish I could show you the faces of people who had the chance to look
at what we were doing. Even the most concerned were pleased after they
had a chance to see our stuff. I spoke with one lady who was obviously
very skeptical about electronic voting. After showing and demonstrating
our system the smile came out.
Well done all, thank you!
-Fred-
