[OVC-demo-team] Fwd: BRP on Fedora 1

Hi Fred (and gang),

I finally managed to get the Fedora ISOs downloaded. Six hours after I
talked to you, Fred, but one was corrupt, so I needed to try it again
this morning. But last night I rearranged partitions, backed up data,
and so on, so I can install a fresh Fedora on a nice clean partition
(with multi-boot).

I imagine Karl's instructions for getting Python2.2 to launch BRP will
be fine. I'm trying to figure out what to do with the voting station
ISOs. I see that Karl's evm-brp.tgz has a brp/disk directory, which
looks identical to my more compact BRP.zip version (both taken from the
OVC development machine). In that directory are these files:

   $ ls disk
   serial.txt
   v-20041102-US-CA-Santa_Clara_County-2216-0216-213.ps
   v-20041102-US-CA-Santa_Clara_County-2216-0216-213.xml
   v-20041102-US-CA-Santa_Clara_County-2216-0572-213.ps
   v-20041102-US-CA-Santa_Clara_County-2216-0572-213.xml
   v-20041102-US-CA-Santa_Clara_County-2216-0761-213.ps
   v-20041102-US-CA-Santa_Clara_County-2216-0761-213.xml

I presume I can print out the .ps files to get a nice set of barcodes
that should match the corresponding .xml files. But what goes on the
ISO, serial.txt plus those three XML files, and NOTHING else? Or is
some other data on the CD? Does everything simply go in the root of the
CD, or are there directories? What if I go ahead and copy the .ps files
and/or other data for convenience, will that explicitly mess up the
read? Or are extra files simply ignored? (obviously, all questions
under the assumption the I/O error is fixed; I mean the correct
behavior in all my questions).

The file serial.txt contains the string 'vs-01'. First, is that
correct? Second, what about 'vs-02' and 'vs-03' that are listed in
'votestations.txt'. Do we need three ISOs for a successful test? If
so, what other data will go on them? Or is the one CD an OK test? If
the latter, do I need to edit votestations.txt to eliminate the other
two?

Well, that's a start. I'd like to get some explicit documentation on
exactly what we're testing, and what would be a success.
