Reporter asks, "Where's the demo?"

Dear Friends,

I got a call Friday from a reporter who had read about the demo we are
working on. David has since removed the "mid-October" target date from our
sourceforge home page, but the fact remains: a lot of people know we are
working on this demo and they want to see it!

Please, if you have code to contribute, let's have it.
